Who is Laura Rossi, photographer in Toronto?
By Laura Rossi · Toronto family photographer
Laura Rossi is a Toronto photographer who lives in Etobicoke, in the city's west end, where she is raising two young boys. She photographs families, corporate events, condo developments, brands and editorial stories, which means her week can run from a toddler in High Park to a keynote downtown.
She has close to a decade of work for the developer Concord behind her, has covered events for the World Economic Forum and Deloitte, and her editorial work has appeared in The Globe and Mail and Toronto Life.
Google the name and you'll meet a few Laura Rossis. This is the one in Toronto with a camera, usually in a west-end park or at the back of a ballroom: laurarossi.ca, and @laurarossiphotog on Instagram.
Where does Laura Rossi work?
Laura lives and works in Etobicoke, and most of her family sessions happen in the west end: High Park, the Kingsway, Bloor West Village, Swansea, Roncesvalles, the Junction and Mimico. James Gardens is her home base for outdoor minis, for its gardens, stone bridges and free parking.
The rest of her work goes wherever it's needed: conference halls and launch nights downtown, model suites up in North York, and anywhere else in the GTA a client needs her.
Off the clock she is out running, walking Bella, the family dog, or making something personalized on her Cricut.
What does she photograph?
Families. Relaxed outdoor sessions and seasonal 20-minute mini sessions, at a park or at home. Full family sessions start at $500 plus HST.
Corporate work and events. Conferences, galas, launches, office content days and team headshots. More on the corporate page and the events page.
Development. For close to a decade she has photographed Concord's Toronto communities: CityPlace downtown, Concord Park Place in North York and the Gloucester site. Towers, model suites, retail, launch events and community life. See development work.
Brand, personal branding and editorial. Brand campaigns and content days, personal branding sessions for founders, coaches and consultants, and editorial features and portraits.
Who has Laura Rossi worked with?
Corporate and institutional clients include the World Economic Forum, Deloitte, TD, TELUS and TMU, along with Nuit Blanche and Entrepreneurs' Organization. She has photographed launch events featuring De Beers and Porsche, and on stage she has photographed Swedish House Mafia, Armin van Buuren and Eric Prydz.
Her longest engagement is Concord: close to a decade of buildings, launches, team headshots and neighbourhood events across CityPlace and beyond.
How does she work?
Most people don't love being photographed, and Laura knows it. So she keeps everyone moving and talking, and the photos happen in between. Ten relaxed minutes beats an hour of saying cheese.
She is a mom of two young boys herself, so a toddler who won't sit still is a normal day, not a problem to solve. A CEO between meetings gets the same thing: calm, quick, and no stiff posing.
Family galleries arrive edited in a private online gallery. Event clients get a flat quote before the day and an edited gallery within five business days.

What do clients say about Laura Rossi?
Mostly, that it didn't feel like a photo shoot. Karen Lara wrote that from start to finish everything "felt so comfortable, professional, and effortless," and that the photos "were even better than I imagined."
Gabriela Caracas booked her for her child's kindergarten graduation: "Laura is great with young kids. The entire experience felt fun and relaxed rather than forced, exactly what you want for a 5 year old."
And on the work side, Dean Maher, who hired her for his magazine, @416Mag, and other projects: "Professional and delivered on time and on budget. I would hire her again without hesitation."
